The Artist Development Program at MDI was designed for songwriters and performers who want to develop their creative personalities so they can compete confidently in a constantly evolving music industry. Tailored according to individual artist's skill and style, this unique program affords budding artists the ability to work directly with professional producers, composers, engineers and music teachers who truly care about their creative music vision and career goals. Over the course of 2 years, artists will work alongside arrangers and producers to perfect and record 4-5 of their original songs in our professional studios. During this time, ADP students will master their instrument of choice through private instruction, learn the fundamentals of effective songwriting and arrangement, basic engineering and production skills, mastering techniques, how to design their own CD package, independent record label management and effective guerilla marketing methods. All ADP students are required to enroll in each of the MDI Internship Programs available throughout their course duration. At the end of their program, ADP graduates will receive a certificate and have an opportunity to have their musical works released on the MDI Records CD sampler, which is sent to various outlets within the music industry.

With the rapid development of the Internet and high-tech computer programs,opportunities for the independent artist and songwriter to promote their product to the public exist today like never before. We know first-hand how the traditional and new recording industry operates and how that effects today's independent artist. Armed with this knowledge, our marketing department and independent label, MDI Records, works with studio clients and "Artists in Development" to create a personal and effective promotional campaign that integrates traditional music industry methods with current online marketing trends. Working alongside our team, you'll learn how to create a press kit, book a gig, obtain distribution, get radio rotation and more importantly -- how to keep it. You'll also learn about Indie promotion methods in the virtual world, and our professional web designers will help you create a personalized internet presence that is both stimulating and effective in marketing your music.
